Tier 1 (sub category of HSMP)

$1350

The Tier 1 Visa is for skilled professionals who want to work and live in the UK. You don’t need a confirmed job offer before you go and your employment is unrestricted whilst you are there. You also don’t require a sponsor under the new system.

A Tier 1 Visa will usually be granted for a stay of three years in the UK and you will have the possibility of extending this for a further two years if you love the UK as much as we do.

To get the elite status of a Tier 1 Visa holder, you need to pass a points-based assessment, scoring at least 75 points across the categories of Age, Qualifications, Previous Earnings and United Kingdom experience.

As part of your Tier 1 Visa application there is a requirement to provide proof of your English language competency and your ability to maintain yourself financially.

Please check to see that you can satisfy the following.

English Language Competency
• You come from a country in which English is recognised as the main language – (Australia & NZ are in this category)
or
• You have passed an English language test equivalent to, or exceeding level C1 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework for Language Learning
or
• You have successfully completed a Masters degree course which was taught in English.

Maintenance (Available Finances)
Clearly a majority of people wouldn’t even consider traveling without a decent amount funds to cover their initial costs, but UK immigration want to be sure. Tier 1 applicants need to provide evidence to show they are able to support themselves and (if applicable ) any dependents for the first couple of months whilst you are securing work.

To give you the heads up, here are the figures for what needs to be available in an account under your name:
Main Applicant - £2800
1st Dependent - £1600
Additional Dependents - £911

Funds in your account need to be evidenced for a minimum of 3 months preceding your application.
